22 April 1986 Inaugural meeting of Soccer Super League. Office bearers. Chairman: Peter Travar (Beograd), Secretary: Ray Smith (University), Treasurer: Rob Suma (Azzurri); Information and Publicity Officer: John Mold (Nomads); Social Organisers: Franz Keppl & Roy Huntingdon (Austria). Composition of league:
Austria, Azzurri, Beograd, Nomads, University, Whyalla Caledonians. Sturt and Noarlunga withdrew and were replaced by Whyalla (6 teams).
Final positions: Azzurri (24), Austria (21), Beograd (19), Whyalla (15) University (8), Nomads (2) based on 15 matches.

28 July 1987 Tony Winefield elected Life Member in recognition for service in starting League


1988 League known variously as ‘Over 35’s Super League’ or ‘Over 35’s league’
Colin MacDougall new Chairman. Birkalla joined the competition (7 teams).


1989 Same 7 teams as in 1988 except that ‘Nomads’ were renamed ‘United’


1990 Change of venue from West Beach to University playing field near zoo.


During the 1990s the League expanded to 20 teams (playing in two divisions) and changed its name to the Masters League.
