Renfrewshire Council's Playing Field Strategy

Renfrewshire Council is committed to the provision of high quality and affordable sports and leisure facilities across Renfrewshire. The council is aware that it needs to take a strategic approach to the management of playing fields within Renfrewshire. This will help to improve the provision of playing fields for school and community use.

Renfrewshire Council's Playing Field Strategy has been produced following extensive data collection and analysis. This looked at the existing situation, tested the adequacy of current provision and identified future requirements.

Wide ranging consultation has already taken place with local sports organisations, national bodies and sportscotland. The input from these organisations made a significant contribution to the development of the strategy.

The development of community sports hubs is a key driver within the strategy. This development builds on existing practice and creates a robust infrastructure to support increased participation at local community level.

We now want to hear your views on how the strategy should be implemented and therefore invite you to a consultation meeting within your local community; please see link for further details
