Biography

I signed for Hopper Engineering at the start of season 1967-68 at the ripe old age of 14 and a bit, they were playing in Division 4 of the Anglian Combiantion and the reserves in Division 3 of the Business Houses League.

After 3 seasons with them I left to play for Horsford United but returned to Hoppers the following season staying with them until they disbanded at the end of season 1972-73. Then I signed for Sprowston Athletic in 1973 playing Anglian Combination football again in either Division 2 or Reserve Division 2,

In season 1977-78 I joined The Grove (formerly Lomax) playing for them for 4 seasons before signing for Spixworth, a couple of seasons later was player manager of the Reserve team and the following season managing the first team whilst also being the Club Secretary.

In 1984-85 still as Spixworth Secretary joined the Norwich Business Houses Management Committee, was Registration Secretary for 2 seasons before taking on the League Secretary and Treasurers position from Terry Deeker in 1989, a position held for 7 seasons before work committments forced me to resign. During that period enjoyment was also found in managing the League';s Representative team.

The following season I was approached regarding the vacant Presidents position.I truly feel honoured that I still hold this position some 40 years after beginning my amateur football career in the Norwich Business Houses League.
