MID STAFFS JUNIOR LEAGUE

Welcome to the Mid Staffs Junior League website. The league under this title has only been in existence since season 1995/96 it was formerly known as the Rugeley & District Boys League which was first formed in 1967 so combined the League has just celebrated its 40th Anniversary of organising junior football for the local community.
The current membership totals 105 teams ranging from Under8s to under 14s across eleven divisions.
In recent seasons the League has developed the mini soccer concept.Mini soccer is now nationally at the forefront of junior football development played with 7 a side teams on dedicated size pitches. All teams at under 8s,9s and 10s play on a Sunday morning at one of the three mini soccer centres.Teams at under 11s also play mini soccer using their own facilties, which then means they are able to play on an home and away basis.
The three mini soccer centres are at Stafford [Rowley Park] Stone[Alleyens Sports Centre and Penkridge[Monckton Sports Centre].
The strength of the league is due to the support of many of the local based junior clubs but now like many other leagues we are seeing more teams prepared to travel to get into a league that tries its very best to support its members and plan organised league and cup competitions. One other attraction is that the league endeavours to play all its cup finals, across all age groups,at such superb centres like the Rowley Park Arena in Stafford, which is recognised as having one of the best playing surfaces in the county.
Although a Stafford based league we have member teams from as far as Stoke/Newcastle in the north to Great Wyrley/Cannock in ther south and Uttoxeter in the east to Gnosall/Eccleshall in the west.
The league is run by a committee of elected officers, some of whom have been with the league for over twenty years,so we really do have a very loyal and dedicated group who do and will continue to offer support and experience to its menbers. All committee members are important but like any organization some have more direct contact with members than others. All are available to be contacted at any reasonable time during the week upto 9-00pm.Monday to Friday.
All member teams are elected to the league at the Annual General Meeting. For season 2008/09 this takes place on 16th June 2008,so if you are planning to change the league you currently play in for next season you can contact the league secretary well in advance of this date should you need further information.
The league publishes fixtures monthly, these will appear on the site Tuesday evening after the league meeting has taken place.League tables are updated every week by 8-00pm Sundays.
It is important to check the website as the latest information will be posted on a regular basis.
This will cover any changes to fixtures and referees as well as keeping teams up to date with league matters.
If you require any extra information you can contact a committee member to get the latest news or changes. It should be noted that the League will only deal with enquiries from current members and prospective new menbers, not players or parents of member teams
