Safer Internet Day Week 7th February 2012

Safer Internet Day is an annual event which is being held on the 7th February 2012. This year the day will be centred on the theme Connecting generations and educating each other, with the slogan: "Discover the digital world together... safely!"

We would encourage you to use Safer Internet Day 2012 as an opportunity to raise awareness within your club/league of internet safety and to promote The FA’s best practice guidance on the use of Social Networking, Websites and Email Communications which can be found by following this link www.thefa.com/TheFA/WhatWeDo/FootballSafe/Downloads

www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day - Information on Safer Internet Day 2012.

www.ceop.gov.uk – CEOP the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre provides advice and support if you have concerns about someone using the internet to contact or abuse children, off or online.

www.cybermentors.org.uk  - For bullying issues, children/young people can go online and talk to other trained young people to get help and support.

www.thinkuknow.co.uk  - Information for children/young people, parents, and carers.  It is interactive and accessible for children and young people and helps them understand how to stay safe on line and when using mobiles.

 Social Media Awareness Sessions for Welfare officers

Over the past 6 months County FA’s have rolled out a number of Social media, Benefits Risks & best Practice awareness sessions across the country for CWOs. If you have yet to attend one of these events we would encourage you to do so.
