It was Quarter Final day in The Steve Asher Memorial Charity Cup and Ryan Anderson of Sleaford Town JFC ensured his team went through to the Semi Final when scoring a hat trick at home to Cleethorpes Town with Daniel Ross completing the tally, Will Mumby-Croft scoring a consolation for Cleethorpes. Sleaford Town will now entertain either St Helens JFC or Grantham Town for a place in the final. North Lincolnshire side Messingham Juniors faced a long journey to Young Dons in the South of the County and came away with a 3-2 victory after scoring in the last minute of the game to earn a home tie in the semi-final. The prolific Ben Brown was once again among the goals when he scored twice and centre back Elliot Ramsbottom also found the back of the net to seal their win, Young Dons replies coming from Jack North & Jack Piggot. Messingham will now face Cleethorpes U17s for a place in the final after they had an easy passage when Premier League side Bottesford Town defaulted. St Helens JFC v Grantham will play on Sunday 15th Dec to complete the semi-final draw.
Due to the cup only one game took place in the Premier League which saw Lincoln Moorlands Railway come out on top in the local derby at Lincoln United, winning 3-1 thanks to a brace from Kieran Job and a solo effort from Nick Hill, Lincoln United’s goal coming through Max Batty. The in form Moorlands side are now third in the League table.
In the Central League, leaders Brigg Town kept their unbeaten record intact to move four points clear at the top when they took maximum points at Welton winning 3-0 thanks to Dom McGuire, Scott Neary & Ben Gray. Saxilby Athletic move into second place when they beat visitors H B W United 3-1 after Ethan Snell, Jack Malone & Max Crosby scored for the home team, Jack Bayliss hitting the solitary goal for H B W.
