League History -
The League was formed in 1998/99 season. Cheltenham Town Reserves doing the double winning both the League and League Cup.
In 2000/01, the League ran its first Annual five a side tournament, won by Warden Hill United. Now a popular regular event, won for the last two seasons by Cam Bulldogs.
In 2002/03, a Second Division was added to the League.
In 2008/09 we added a Match Official of the Season Award - based on teams match reports on the referees.
In 2009/10, a Third Division was added to the League making a total of 23 teams and 506 players playing in the GCWFL. We also added a League 5-a-side Plate Competition as well as a League Golden Boot Award.
