BUXTON TAVERNERS LEAGUE
The two cup finals which took place at Silverlands were played in glorious sunshine, Harpur Club belied their lowly league position with an excellent display against Athletico Rag in the Invitation Cup, they held Rag for 70 minutes before Luke Davin netted for Rag, Dave Della-Cioppa then doubled the lead late on and Neil Jones came close to making it three only to see his effort bounce back off the bar, the man of the match award went to Luke Davin who is pictured with the other goalscorer Della-Cioppa above.
Fairfield had a host of injury problems for the Charles Lynch cup final and it was no surprise to see Great Rocks run out convincing winners, Mark Timothy opened the scoring in the 15th minute and Ray Dwolitka made it two before half-time, when Jack Gregory grabbed a third goal for Rocks it looked like the floodgates would open but Fairfield to their credit never gave in and deservedly pulled one back through Tim Crespin but they ran out of steam in the hot weather and James Everall and Adam Walker both added to the Rocks score, the man of the match award went to Rocks hardworking midfielder Cory Flint.
There was one league game which took place where White Hart had Damian High on target twice and one each from Neil Benney, Lee Jones, Dean Large and Carl Walker as they beat Kinder Lodge 6-3
