BUXTON TAVERNERS LEAGUE
There were goals galore in the Buxton Taverners League on sunday. In division 1 table toppers Great Rocks won by 6 goals to 3 against Red Star Beltain. Rocks goals came from R.Dwalitka, A.Lumbert and J.Gregory all with 2 goals each. Redfern got a hat trick for the home side. In the New mIlls derby the bragging rights were shared after an exciting 3 - 3 draw. Afc Millers took the lead early in the game through Goodwin and Taylor, but Kinder pulled one back just before the half time whistle when Adrio slotted home against his old side. Kinder equalised with a peach from higginbotham and then took the lead through Jones. Prodromus made it 3-3 in a fine game. Athletico Rags topsy turvy season continued this week they beat the high flying Inter Web by 7-4. Rag raced into a 4-1 half time lead, but inter web tried to battle back. Rags goal scorers were Marchall, Hall, a brace for Jones and M.goodchild hit a hat trick. Inter replied with goals from Taylor, Bagshaw and a brace from the impressive J.Hyde.
Division 2
New Inn town had a real scare on their hands going 3-0 down to Queens Head. J.Mellor hit 2 screamers and R.Eyre also got on the score sheet. New Inn town dug in and came back with goals from Green, Downing and 2 from Winterbottom. Commercial are the only team in the league to still be unbeaten. This time they dispensed of Kaizer Cheese by 5 goals to 2 with goals from D.Morris, A.Styler, M.Monks and 2 from M.Stomper. Cheese replied through M.Harris and one from J.Young. Pack Horse Chapel and Harpur Club ran out all square at 1-1. Pack Horse scored through S.Ellis and Harpurs goals came from R.rindley.
