The Aberdeen and District Juvenile Football Association has been in existence since the start of the 1991-1992 seaon. It was as a result of the amalgamation of the Under 12 Juvenile Association, the Aberdeen Youth Service which served the Under 13's to Under 15's and operated under the auspices of the Scottish Amateur Association and the juvenile Aberdeen Youth League which catered for the Under 16's and under 18's age groups.
The decison to amalgamate was taken in order to bring all youth football in the area within one set of rules and to form a solid base for for negotiating with the then Aberdeen District Council on the use of pitches and facilities, for negotiating sponsorship and for dealing with the Referees' Association.
Over the years the number of teams in membership has grown from 140 in 1991 to currently over 300 in all age groups.
